So this is my first official post on here. I must say I am a bit nervous, but anyway let's get to it shall we. I honestly have never been let down by a bra before. Even if the whole world spits in your eye a good bra is there with a tissue and a cookie to make you feel better. Now keep in mind the ONLY time I ever go bra shopping is around the holidays. That is when the sales splash everything with beautiful 50% to 75% off tags. Bras now a days can run from $17.00 all the way up to bras so expensive you should probably be buried in it and have it insured.
One thing I have noticed recently is that all my bras have recently started to plot against me and plan to stab me in the heart. Maybe it is because I went up a cup size in the recent months and they are rebelling, but all the underwire in nearly all of my bras has broken free from the piece of cloth holding it at bay and surged toward the destination that is my chest. Apparently when a bra decides to die it suddenly wants to take you with it...Rude. Being a fluctuating 36C/D I have to take care when picking out bras and they run me a pretty penny. I also have back problems from a history of sports and crazy growth spurts. I do not have the luxury of just popping on a shirt and skipping through the flower patch without a bra. That is not cute on me.
Throwing away some of my favorite bras is so disheartening especially when they are not even half a year old and just decided to commit bra suicide. So how do I fix this? Well for the ones that are too far gone I simply remove the underwire and it still does the job. Sure, underwire is appreciated but in no way completely needed. In fact, it is a lot more comfortable without in some cases. I have a large school load as well as extra curricular activities so I can't always book it to Aerie and spend $50.00 (though they do always have great sales there). I also suggest buying a sewing kit. Sometimes everything can be fixed with a needle and thread and a deep hope that your bra surgeon skills can pay the bills. No, you do not have to be a Project Runway type designer to sew something.
So it is safe to say I probably haven't actually purchased a bra in nearly a year because it is just not in the budget at this point. I will say never get a bra from a place that does not specialize in them. The support literally just is not there. Yes, I know bras cost quite a bit and the bigger your set of twins the more you need to spend. So work smarter not harder. And if all else fails Aerie and JCPenny are my favorites as well as the occasional undercover online store. I am going to try to post twice per week so let me know what you are interested in. My blog is not just dedicated to the life of a writer, but also to that of a young woman surviving off of Taco Bell and Ramen noodles attempting to figure out life after college and all that it presents. SOOOO hopefully I can be of some help and together we can figure it out.
