So I know I've been missing in action. I was pretty busy over the holidays. I'm back 100% now hopefully and have tons to write about for you all. I recently was challenged by my father. He bet me $50.00 that I could not go without bread or anything flour based for an entire month. Now it sounds simple. It is not. I am what I like to call a carb addict. Bread is one thing, but then I sat down and actually mapped out the things I like to eat and the number of times I eat those things. Pastries are my weakness. I determined that I have a serious problem when it comes to eating carbs. Pasta and bread are two of the main things I eat daily. I agreed to the bet still because to a college student $50.00 is a nice addition. I figured if I could refuse alcohol I could easily tell bread to take a hike.
Within the first two days of the bet I nearly lost. How you ask? Eggrolls. I don't know why I thought eggrolls were in the clear. As soon as my dad saw me pop them into the microwave he extended his hand and said "Are you ready to pay me my $50.00?" Come to find out the pork stuffed rolls were wrapped in flour. i then began to dissect everything I had to eat. Almost all of it had flour in it and thus was on the forbidden list. I nearly cried on my way to my apartment when all I wanted was a cheeseburger from Burger King. When you look at it though carbs are some of the easiest things available to you. Especially if you are a college student like myself you are used to burgers and fries on a loop.
I decided I needed to prioritize. There was no way I was going to get away with my dad calling me thick. I have NEVER been called thick before. So I've stuck to the only thing that works for me. Throwing things away or locking things away. I immediately went to the store and purchased tons of food that was healthy and kept me in the safe zone. The next step was a work out regimen. I will be the first to say that starting is the hardest part. This last Wednesday was my first time back in the gym. It was brutal to say the least. I'm 23 years old and I thought I was having a heart-attack. As someone who believes she was a fat house cat in a past life it is hard for me to put on my waist trainer and actually put myself into motion. I'm not a big girl by any means, but I could stand to lose a good ten pounds. My plan was simple though and only required my time and energy. I broke my plan down into a three part work out over the span of three days throughout my week. Day one would be dedicated to all things legs, butt, and thighs. Day two was specific to chest and arms. Day three would be nothing but core and more core. Occasionally I plan to pair each day with a little something different as well. This includes yoga, spinning, extreme cardio, or zumba. All of which make me fat girl wheeze. So far though I've managed to stick to my plan. I will be posting pictures of my progress as well as my diet plans and waist training experience. Let me know what you all think about cutting carbs from your diet. What else would you cut to lose weight and help you get into better shape?
