Recently a great friend of mine introduced me to Bee and Puppycat. If you have no clue what that is do not worry because I will be including links. My friend contacts me one day asking me about Bee and Puppycat. At first I was completely confused because she was not making sense. Puppycat? What in the world is a puppycat? The next thing I know I am on YouTube for ten and a half solid minutes of pure delight. After watching, my friend tells me that she was glad I liked it because I remind her a lot of Bee. At first I was unsure of how to react to that since Bee can not keep a job, is hopeless with men, takes in random stray animals, and has a great desire to jaywalk. So, in a way, pretty much me without the job struggles.
I immediately started looking up any and all information on Bee and Puppycat. I soon found out that it was to be turned into a series on the YouTube channel Cartoon Hangover, which is a partner of Frederator. Frederator and Cartoon Hangover make cartoons for television, the internet and movies. They have even created some of my all time favorite series' such as: My Life as a Teenage Robot, ChalkZone, The Fairly Odd Parents, and Bravest Warriors. To put it lightly...I died with excitement. Bee and Puppycat already has a huge following, including myself now. The art style resembles that of Adventure Time and Bravest Warriors of course because it is by the same people. Recently creator of Bee and Puppycat, Natasha Allegri, spoke at New York Comic Con. I cursed myself for being stuck in the south and not getting to witness this.

After watching the part 1 & 2 I was hooked. I couldn't help but think of myself and my own writing. I have been dying for so long to do something regarding animation. Whether that was writing an animated movie or show or being a voice actor for one. I never really had the talent for animating. (Just ask my 12th grade animation teacher -_-). On the other hand ask me to write an animated web-series though...I'm your gal and it will be done in a week!
Bee and Puppycat had me feeling inspired in a whole new way. I am the type to say have a game plan. In your last year of college especially start networking and getting to know people who either are themselves important or know someone important. They might just be able to give you a job. If you aren't a networking-fairy though experience is key. Last summer I went out and worked for a local news station in the marketing department. Sure, it would not be my first choice for an internship, but it was a great insight into having a work ethic and finding out what type of employee I could be. I probably need a bit more practice in that department.
While in my research coma I was able to find a new goal that I hope to work toward and reach by the end of this year. This goal is an internship with Frederator. This is the type of company I would give my left butt cheek to work for. Working for a company you are not passionate about can be tedious and everyday will be consumed by waiting for it to end.
So...We are seeing it now. I, M, promise to do everything within my natural born power to get an internship with Frederator. This time next fall I hope to be carrying out my duties in said internship and working my way up to a possible position. Because without a goal or a plan we are all just destined to wait. My parents have already made it clear that I will not be living with them for a long time or be without a job after graduation. There is plenty of motivation around me. Now just to apply it. Feel free to check out the awesome links below. The Bee and Puppycat series starts November 6th on the YouTube Channel Cartoon Hangover. I know I will be watching!
